NAT is Network Address Translation. Do not open or close. This is not something to open or close. The router translates the private non-routable IP addresses on your local network to meet the public IP WAN routeable for Internet routing, and then back translated the answers to the LAN IP address to an appropriate response appropriate LAN device .
